100th overhauled LHB locomotive flagged off from Golden Rock Railway Workshop | So Good News

Southern Railway Chief Mechanical Engineer Gautam Dutta on Friday flagged off the 100th and 101st LHB locomotives which were successfully overhauled at the Golden Rock Railway Workshop here.
The LHB motor coaches are equipped with diesel generator sets to provide power to all the coaches in the formation and are attached to the far end of a train. The Southern Railway headquarters had given the task of overhauling LHB motor cars to the Golden Rock workshop by the end of 2020.
The first two LHB motor cars were successfully overhauled and shipped from the workshop in February 2021. The workshop then mastered the art of overhauling with several gadgets and test benches. The Chief Mechanical Engineer also flagged off the first two trailer coaches of the DEMU train of Tiruchi Railway Division on the occasion. Chief Workshop Manager, Golden Rock Railway Workshop, Shyamadhar Ram and leading officials were present on the occasion, said a press release from the workshop.
The Golden Rock workshop is one of the premier railway repair shops in the country known for its quality in workmanship, truthfulness in innovations and diversity in rolling stock handled by it, the release added.
