According to Consumer Reports, the Genesis GV80 is the first SUV to be released by Genesis. With a few years under its belt as a luxury brand separate from its parent company, Hyundai, Genesis has used the GV80 to compete as an affordable and well-equipped SUV in the underserved luxury market. Released on the North American market in November 2020 as a 2021 model, the Genesis GV80 is in its second year of production.
The Genesis GV80 has been recognized as the best mid-size SUV that excels with its turbo V6 engine and leather-trimmed interior, 21-speaker audio system, wood trim, and an infotainment screen that allows drivers. use touch or control buttons, whatever they want.
As for the downsides, the GV80 has had some critics complain about the stiff ride quality at low wheels and the amount of headroom in the third seats.
Land Rover Defender
Many buyers will be surprised to learn that the Land Rover Defender is a new SUV. The original Land Rover Defender was an off-road monster that served as Britain’s answer to the Jeep used in World War II. The Defender was a tough, practical vehicle that was used all over the world, both for military and civilian use.
However, the new Land Rover Defender is a mid-size SUV that went into production for the 2020 model year, combining the beauty of the old Defender with the luxury that is expected to come out of the new Land Rover range. The new Defender has received praise for its off-road ability and fun ride, which feels more casual than previous models, as well as its styling which gives it a modern look while paying homage to its history. Unfortunately, the Land Rover Defender is an expensive luxury car that is also expensive to drive with a sub-20 mpg fuel economy.
Toyota Venza
The Toyota Venza midsize crossover SUV is a vehicle that was abandoned but was recently reintroduced into the Toyota lineup to meet the current trends in the midsize SUV market. The 2021 model year Venza fits into Toyota’s line-up as a hybrid alternative to the RAV4 and is a size below the Highlander. The Toyota Venza has the best fuel economy in all of its modest price ranges, with an all-wheel drive hybrid drivetrain as the only option.
Although the Venza offers excellent fuel economy, critics were not impressed with the car’s handling and its noisy engine. The Toyota Venza also doesn’t come in plug-in hybrid form, which could lead buyers to opt for the RAV4 Prime, which offers an electric hybrid model.
Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport
The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport midsize crossover SUV was introduced for the 2020 model year to offer the market a sporty version of the award-winning Volkswagen Atlas. The Atlas Cross Sport does a good job of living up to its sporty aesthetic, which is surprising from Volkswagen, a company that has historically been unimpressed with its designs. The Atlas Cross Sport gets a higher seat and feels more contained inside compared to the regular Atlas, but that comes at a price; The third-row seats found in the Atlas have been removed from the Atlas Sport.
Buyers can be divided between the Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport in terms of which will best suit their needs. Unfortunately, the Atlas Cross Sport retains the same features found in the Volkswagen Atlas, including poor fuel economy and poor performance.
