Teams from 12 top chess-playing nations, including India, China, the United States and the Netherlands, have lined up for the 2022 World Team Chess Championship here next month.

The roster for the tournament, which starts on November 20, was announced by the Israel Chess Federation (ICF) on Sunday after South Africa confirmed they would be participating at the weekend.

Other participating countries are China, the United States, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, India, Spain, France, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Poland and host Israel, according to Xinhua.

Before the tournament organized by the International Chess Federation (FIDE), the 12 teams are divided into two pools of approximately equal strength, sorted by the average rating of their players.

After five rounds, the top four teams in each pool advance to the quarterfinals. The final match will be held on November 25.
