Below: Allocation of fixed sickness allowance to railway pensioners/family pensioners — change in option.

As per Railway Board’s letter No. PC-V/98/I/7/1/1 dated 15-7-2002 (RBE No. 107/2002) the railway pensioners/family pensioners with eligibility for FMA was given. , once in a lifetime, an opportunity to change the ability to take advantage of the FMA or otherwise by providing proof of a change in residence. The issue of allowing this one time option to change option for the FMA/OPD facility had been under consideration with the DoP&PW for quite some time. It has now been decided that railway pensioners/family pensioners who live more than 2.5 km from a railway hospital/health unit and are eligible for RELHS, will be given the opportunity to make use of a change option once in their life, e.g.from FMA to OPD or vice versa with no link to a change in residence.

3. This applies with the consent of the Directorate of Finance to the Ministry of Railways.

4. This comes into effect from the date of issue of this letter.
