Chess players march in Edenglen | So Good News

Chess players from all over South Africa came to Edenglen High School for the National Colors Awards Chess Tournament.

The event took place on October 7-8.

Edenglen students James Papoutsis, Daniel van Wyk, Tiona Nagappa, Moteo Lebea, Haniso Hlungwane, Adhi Ramcharan, Kianetse Letlonkane, Marissa Naidoo and Igwe Makantoni took part in the World Chess Federation accredited event.

At Edenglen High School, chess players, young and old, come together when the school hosts the National Colors Awards Chess Tournament.

Nine students who participated in it are now internationally recognized.

They played against the best players from South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana.

Her chess girls received a certificate of merit for their participation.

Mr Mambika and Ms Mtombeni were also presented with certificates at the award ceremony.
