Costco Recalls Key Products After Consumer Complaints | So Good News

Poultry company Foster Farms is recalling approximately 148,000 pounds of frozen chicken fat that was shipped to Costco warehouses. (Price) .
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said on Oct. 29 that the products may be contaminated with clear plastic pieces.
There have been no confirmed reports of injuries related to consuming the product, but officials believe that the hard plastic pieces can be sharp and cause injury.
The best frozen chicken was made on Aug. 11, officials said.
Products are 80-oz. plastic packages containing 20 pieces of “CHICKEN PATTIES BREADED CHICKEN BREAST PATTIES AND BEEF RIBS” with the identification date “08/11/23,” the serial number “P-33901,” and the code “3*2223**” printing of inkjet on the back of the package and “7527899724” under the barcode.
The items were shipped to Costco distribution centers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, and Washington, and may have also been shipped to Costco retail locations.

User Complaints Encouraged to Recall
The problem came to light when the company informed officials that it had received consumer complaints that transparent plastic was embedded in pre-packaged, frozen, pre-cooked and super-cooked chicken meals by Aug. 11, 2023.
Consumers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them and sellers are advised not to sell them. The product must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
Anyone affected by an injury or illness should seek medical attention.
Privately held Foster Farms was founded in 1939. The company, which generates $3 billion in annual revenue, was acquired by asset management firm Atlas Holdings in June.
In other recall news, Bob Evans Farms Foods recently announced a recall of its Italian pork sausage products that were made on Sept.
The material can be contaminated by foreign substances, especially the thin blue rubber. The problem was discovered after Bob Evans notified FSIS that it had received complaints from consumers who had found the products they purchased.
