November 29, 2022, is the date chosen for the start of the Chess Club Championship by Liberians, with the former President of Liberia, William W.S. A national holiday celebrating Tubman’s birthday. The Chess Club Championship is a one-day rapid chess event in which all clubs and chess centers are invited to register and participate. The Club Championship will be a Swiss rapid chess tournament of 7 rounds with 20 minutes and 5 seconds overtime control for each player.

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, the Chess Festival will continue with the National Rapid Chess Championship and on Sunday, December 4, 2022, the National Blitz Chess Championship will be held.

The National Classical Chess Championship begins with the opening ceremony on Friday, December 9, and ends on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

The winners of the Open and Women’s Sections automatically qualify for all official ACC and FIDE events in the calendar year following the championships.
