“Innovation is the need of the hour,” says Dharmendra Pradhan at UNESCO’s India Africa Hackathon | So Good News
Noida, November 25: Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday reiterated the importance of ‘Innovation’ in today’s world.
Speaking at the valedictory session of the UNESCO India Africa Hackathon at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister Pradhan said, “Innovation is the need of the hour, especially in the age we live in.”
He further said that India’s CoWIN application remains a shining example of innovation for the world, where the entire vaccination process from registration to final certification can be tracked online in real time.
Every innovation in India benefits the world, especially developing economies, he added.

Pradhan further said that the UNESCO India-Africa Hackathon (UIAH) is an initiative that brings together Indian and African talent to innovate for a better future.
The Union Minister also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called ‘Jai Anusandhan’ who will lead our efforts to make research and innovation a way of life.
UIAH is a platform for collaborating countries to come together to find solutions to the challenges they face and also serves as a platform for nurturing innovative startups to change the world. Initiatives like UIAH promote cooperation, enrich cross-cultural exchanges, sow the seeds of leadership, creative thinking and entrepreneurship, and strengthen friendships, he added.
Pradhan also congratulated all the Hackathon winners and encouraged students from Africa to explore opportunities in India and study in India.
