Part of the 2022 Jack R. Lee Distinguished Speaker Series, the event will feature Hester Peirce, Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, and Kathy Kraninger, vice president of regulatory affairs at Solidus Labs and former director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. . It will be held from 1:30-3:00 pm at Nusz Hall, 250 Bailey Howell Drive.
Tom Miller Jr., the Jack R. Lee Chair in Financial Institutions and Consumer Finance in MSU’s College of Business, will moderate the discussion.
Peirce was appointed to the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 2018 and his term continues until 2025. Before joining the commission, he conducted research on financial market regulation at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Kraninger served as director of the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from 2018-2021, providing leadership to the independent, regulatory and enforcement agency. He joined Solidus Labs, a company that works to create secure cryptocurrency transactions.
