JAMMU, Oct 29: Advocates Association for Social Responsibility And Awareness (AASRAA) India’s largest Consumer Rights Organization held its first Governing Body Meeting (GBM) in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. GBM was founded by AASRAA Founder and Chief Patron Habeeb Sultan Ali and National Advisory Board Member GL Vijay Kumar.
Habeeb Sultan Ali explained in detail about the organization’s activities and suggested ways to strengthen the organization across the country.
Vijay Kumar advised the Committee members to bring celebrities from films and sports to create awareness among the common people.
Jai Dev Rajwal, founder and member of the National Governing Body who hails from J&K said that the Consumer Protection Act was enacted in 1986, but even after 36 years consumers are not aware of the Act and its powers in their hands. it was introduced, but due to the ignorance of the consumers they face problems. Through AASRAA he raised the voice that by encouraging the group across the country and J&K in particular to educate Awareness about Consumer Protection Act, consumer rights and responsibilities. On the occasion, Rajwal were members of the Governing Body.
The Governing Body members unanimously elected President and general secretary Tarun Kakani, Mr sandeep and Shiva Kumar respectively. The entire program was organized by AASRAA Tamilnadu Chapter under the leadership of its president Rajan Srinivas.
Iqbal, Amar Sandeep, Sri Dhanya, Narayana, Madhu Koneru, Rajinder Parsad and Youth Wing president Mohammad Shaheen also participated.
