Chess.com is pleased to announce this registration is now open in order to Spring 2023 period Collegiate Chess League! This season will see the return of the 4 vs 4 team format familiar to most CCL players and fans. $30,000 prize fund— Our biggest CCL prize.
If you are a university student who loves chess and would like to represent your university this spring, register today on our partner NACE Starleague website! Registration closes on January 13. Follow these steps to register:
Team captains
Team captains must complete two steps before other players can register:
- Register your team on the NACE Starleague website.
- Here’s a video tutorial on how to do it if you need help.
- If your school is not on the NACE platform, please contact them to add it by emailing Joe Navarro at [email protected] or asking an administrator on the CCL discord server. Please do this if you are over 18 and represent your college chess team.
- Complete the Chess.com registration form.
All other players
Once your team captain has registered your team, follow these steps:
- Register for NACE Starleague and join your team.
- Signing the Referee Agreement.
The Regular Season begins January 21 and ends on March 18. Players will have a week off before taking their first steps into the playoffs, which begin on March 25 and end on April 15.
Collegiate Chess League is the best online chess league for college students. With over 200 teams from 100 schools from 12 countries joining last season, the CCL continues to grow every year. With the addition of stars like CEOs Avonder Liang, Nicolas Cheka, Grigory Oparin, Andrew Tang, Ruifeng Li and more to the league, the competition is getting fiercer every year.
