Tata Consumer Q2 profit rises 36% to ₹389 cr; revenue rose 11% to ₹3,363 cr | So Good News


Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) on Thursday reported a 36.25% rise in consolidated earnings. 389.43 crore in the second quarter.

The company had posted a huge profit of 285.80 crore during July-September last year.

Income from operations increased by 10.87 percent 3,363.05 crore in the quarter under review as against 3,033.12 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Total revenue of Tata Consumer Products (TCPL) was at 3,021.90 crore, an increase of 11.55 percent from 2,708.91 crore earlier.

“We also delivered one-fourth of our revenue growth as we returned margins despite inflation, currency weakness and low prices in international markets,” said TCPL Managing Director and CEO Sunil D’Souza.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd’s revenue from the Indian market in July-September rose 9.19 percent to 2,159.95 crore, against 1,978.08 crore in the previous year.

Although India’s leading tea group was sluggish, TCPL continued to gain market share, he said.

“In our other major mineral business, although commodity prices are driven by inflation, we have continued to gain market share and strengthen our leadership,” added D’Souza.

His international business helped fund the 838.87 crore, an increase of 7.37 percent compared to 781.27 crore earlier.

“While high inflation and poor cash flows in our global business have impacted us significantly this quarter, we will be implementing cost-cutting measures to support the future,” said D’Souza.

Shares of TCPL on Thursday settled at 770.25 each on the BSE, up 0.25 percent from the previous close.
