The BloombergNEF Pioneers competition looks for innovations in hydrogen, metals and materials | So Good News

[ad_1]
This year, BNEF is looking for innovations in hydrogen, metals and materials and food production.
In 2023, the “Pioneers” award will be awarded to companies working with innovations that solve the following tasks:
Accelerating clean hydrogen deployment. Hydrogen and its derivatives currently play a minor role in the global energy system and are rarely produced in low-carbon ways. The clean hydrogen sector faces many challenges as it seeks to rapidly create new value chains while reducing costs. Innovations in this field may include low-carbon production methods, new electrolyzer designs that improve efficiency or renewable energy integration, better storage and transportation equipment, or new technologies for use in buildings, industry, energy, and transportation.
Sustainable metals and materials for an electrified future. In addition to the electrification of heating, transportation and industrial activities, the increase in clean energy will include lithium, copper, cobalt, nickel, etc. requires a rapid increase in supply. However, the production of these materials should minimize impacts on biodiversity and water and land use wherever possible. Innovations to address these challenges include new methods of extracting and recycling materials and technologies that reduce demand for materials by increasing their efficiency.
Applications for the 2023 BNEF Pioneers Program are available here.
The contest ends on November 18.
