Americans don’t want their cars to break down. Most car buyers care more about a car’s reliability than they do about its safety, affordability or fuel economy, according to a consumer survey conducted by Cox Automotive and Kelly Blue Book.

Every year, Consumer Reports, a nonprofit consumer organization and independent testing magazine, surveys its members about the problems they’ve had with their cars in the past 12 months to determine which cars are the most reliable.
