The lawmaker of the party called for the creation of a representative office for consumers of energy, under the Department of Justice, to ensure that consumers are properly represented in all matters related to energy in government agencies.
Probinsyano Ako party list Rep. Rudys Caesar Fariñas presented House Bill No. 6237, or the Energy Consumer Advocate Act, regarding the lack of “glaring” for consumers in cases before the Energy Regulatory Commission.
According to Mr. Fariñas, the Energy Consumer Advocate Office will act as an “independent representative in pricing, regulatory and other energy-related cases and proceedings before government agencies, including courts and tribunals.” —JEANNETTE I. ANDRADE
